The Launch

This is the christening of the Awareness to Action team blog. This team is a group of students in the International Baccalaureate (IB) program from various countries around the world, all of whom met originally at the 2010 IB World Student Conference in Corvallis, Oregon. Collectively this group of students aims to write articles on issues and topics that are important and interesting to them both globally and locally. Within each of their own schools they will compose a newsletter of the articles written by their fellow peers on this site. The articles aim to be non-biased, but instead offer a logical progression of why these issues or topics are important to every citizen of humanity. Along with the IB program these students are united by an idea of global citizenship, which involves realizing that the problems of other countries are problems of the world, and we are all united under the banner of  Humanity. Through these no-bias articles we hope to raise awareness locally about global topics. In conjunction with Taking IT Global (http://projects.tigweb.org/a2a) founded by Michael Furdyk we hope to spread the idea of global citizenship and that all of humanity should be educated on issues that affect the world over.

Objectives:
-To start newsletters at schools with participating students informing others of Global issues
-To inform students of Global issues, and provide them with ways to take action
-To create a community of support for involved students
-Provide a resource containing a list of organizations working to solve universal goals
-To involve future students to create a self sustaining community committed to awareness and inspiring change

We hope to have launched our first newsletters by September 2nd and to have many more posts before and after that!
We will keep you posted, subscribe now for updates.
Thank you, and we hope to keep your support.
